Bhutan: TTI Chumey Project

Bhutan’s Ministry of Education, Bern University of Applied Sciences and the CDC are developing a high-quality wood technology training program at the Chumey Technical Training Institute in Jakar, including technology transfer and a learning factory.

Indonesia: S4C Project

To promote vocational training in Indonesia, the cooperation programme ‚Skills for Competitiveness’ (S4C) das Ziel, das Bildungssystem an die Anforderungen der Industrie anzupassen, indem es bedarfsorientierte Ausbildungen an polytechnischen Fachhochschulen entwickelt.

Philippines: Pinoy Tannin Project

The project ‘Pinoy Tannin’ aims to establish a sustainable tannin extraction chain to create new sources of income for the local population. This includes the construction of a demonstration plant and a pilot farm.

Philippines: Cocoboard Project

The ‘Cocoboard’ project investigated the use of coconut fibre to produce sustainable building fibreboards for social housing. Since the end of the project, industrial production has been established as part of a spin-off (NaturLoop).

Ukraine: Preparing for reconstruction

A programme initiated by the Berne University of Applied Sciences offers targeted training for reconstruction, including the evaluation and monitoring of infrastructure projects. The CDC also works with private companies and experts from implementation agencies to assist with project planning and implementation.

Bosnia-Herzegovina

The aim of the ‘Leadership and Skills Development Programme’ was to improve skills in the furniture and wood industries and to create a sustainable interaction between training providers and industry.

Ghana: Test Laboratory

The project included the establishment of a Test Lab at the Forestry Research Institute of Ghana and the development of standards and norms for sustainable forestry.

Ghana: St. Paul Technical School

The School and Curriculum Development Projekt supported the St Paul Technical School in Kukurantumi to reform its technical courses to meet the needs of the labour market.

Cameroon: Vocational training for the timber industry

The ‘VET Cameroun’ project promoted practical, modular training courses to improve training in the Cameroonian timber industry.

Gabon: Educational cooperation and establishment of a woodworking school

On behalf of the Gabonese Ministry of Education, a dual vocational training system for the timber industry will be introduced. The aim is to train skilled local professionals and support efforts to diversify and strengthen Gabon’s economy.

Cuba: Teacher training

The‘PROFET-Project’ has the objective of reinforcing the vocational training system in Cuba and of fostering bilateral relations between Switzerland and Cuba.

Peru: University Partnership

The CDC coordinates a professional dialog and exchange with the Pontificia University in Lima for the Bern University of Applied Sciences, including joint summer and winter schools as well as special weeks. This cooperation promotes the exchange of students and faculties in research and teaching.

Bangladesh: 'Remittances'

On behalf of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, CDC prepared the tender for the design of a labour migration project focusing on the optimisation of remittances and their use.

Swiss Platform for Sustainable Coffee

The SSCP is a multi-stakeholder initiative launched by the Swiss Federal Council on 6 June 2024. Coffee industry, Swiss government, represented by the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs(SECO), civil society and academia.

On request, the CDC develops exclusive, tailor-made training programmes for partner institutions and moderates third-party events. We also arrange exclusive internship opportunities as part of the CDC project network.
